Welcome to OASFAA

Matthew MooreOASFAA is turning 50!

I am so very excited for the opportunity to serve as the OASFAA President for the 2018-19 year, what will be our 50th Anniversary year. As we embark on this milestone year, let us focus on the critical role that you – our OASFAA members – play every day in the lives of students and their families. You help each year to ensure that students have access to a higher education. You facilitate this access while also managing highly complex and difficult to administer financial aid programs.

Our conference committee is working diligently to plan the 50th OASFAA Conference, which will be held in Columbus on October 24-26, 2018 at the Sheraton Columbus Hotel at Capitol Square. We are planning some great festivities for this monumental year, including having many of our Past Presidents in attendance at the conference and a fabulous event Wednesday night to celebrate our history. Our next Chenelle Leadership Program has also commenced and will be working now and during the conference to prepare our colleagues for future leadership roles within OASFAA. In addition to the annual conference, we will again be hosting many opportunities for our members through our regional workshop offerings, NASFAA Credential trainings, and our second ever OASFAA Director’s Day (tentatively scheduled for Februray 2019).

I look forward to speaking with you in hopes of continuing to strengthen our great Association. If you are not a member, this is a great time to join us in supporting our mission to affect public policy initiatives, promote the ethical administration of student aid programs, and encourage an environment of cooperation among individuals, agencies, organizations, and educational institutions to better serve all student populations.

Cheers to our golden anniversary!

Sincerely,

Matt Moore
2018-19 OASFAA President
