COVID Safety Protocols for Conference *Updated*
In order to align with updated CDC guidelines, and those issued by Franklin County, masks will now be optional for the OASFAA conference. We will have KN95 masks available at registration for those that wish to wear one. We will also have hand sanitizer available throughout the conference areas.
Upon checking in on-site at the registration desk, attendees will be able to select a sticker to pin to their conference badge (red, yellow, or green) to indicate their comfort level with social interaction.
- Green means they are comfortable with normal contact and close conversation. Hugs and handshakes are welcome.
- Yellow indicating their preference for minimal contact (think fist bumps versus hugs or handshakes)
- Red indicating their preference that other attendees maintain a distance of six-feet-away, as possible, and, please, no touching.
Conference Charity-The Boys and Girls Club of Central Ohio
The mission of The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Ohio is to enable young people to reach their full potential.
BGCCO has provided out-of-school programming to underserved youth in the Columbus area since 1948. Their outcomes-driven programming helps the kids they serve overcome the systemic inequities that threaten their long-term success by providing members with proven pathways and opportunities to achieve their full potential. They operate eight (7) Clubs in central Ohio's most at-risk neighborhoods and serve kids between the ages of 5 –18. Club members offer amazing potential, yet we know that many Club kids face great challenges including poverty, high crime rates, vacant housing, and barriers to educational and career attainment.
- 93% of Club members are economically disadvantaged, and
- 23% report that they live in households with annual incomes under $5,000.
The Club offers a comprehensive array of evidence-based programs that focus on four core pillars: 1) Academic Success 2) Good Character & Leadership 3) Healthy Lifestyles and 4) Socio-Emotional Health. Please feel free to visit their website for more information: www.bgccentralohio.org.
To support this organization, we will be hosting a 50/50 raffle at the OASFAA Conference. In addition, The Boys and Girls Club has also provided us with a “Wish list” of items that can use for their clubs. If you are interested in donating items, please bring them to the conference and leave them at the registration desk or send them with a friend or colleague.
